Mid-Week Gratitude Break Kickoff

At the risk of sounding cliche, I have led a charmed life.  I am reminded daily how charmed and blessed my life has been. All I need to do is listen to the news or look around me and I am reminded that I don’t have anything to complain about – ever. Not that I don’t complain sometimes, it just really isn’t justified.

Like any other person, my life has been a series of ups and downs, but my ups have far outnumbered my downs. I have made mistakes and had successes.  I try to learn something from all of my life experiences, be they good or bad.

It seems to me that we are currently living in difficult times.  The struggle to stay positive is almost tangible, at least to me.  I believe that the economy, various wars/conflicts, crazy people doing crazy things, famine, natural disasters, threat of terrorism and the more personal issues that people deal with on a daily basis can cloud the ability  to recognize the many good and positive things in our lives and in the world.

I try to be consciously grateful for all of the good and wonderful things in life, but often the “noise” of life gets in the way.  Today is what I hope to be the first of many Mid-week Gratitude Breaks.  These gratitude breaks will be an opportunity to stop and think about all the great things in life and to shut down the “noise’, at least for a few minutes.  Here are the things I am grateful for right now (in no particular order):

financial security, health, family, friends, job

    • Maybe in a day or two I will fully realize my gratitude for my trainer. Right now I will be grateful if I am able to move tomorrow.

  4. i’m grateful for wonderful clients like you and tom. seriously, if it weren’t for my job, i wouldn’t have the opportunity to meet quality people like you two. sounds mushy, but it is true. 🙂 also thankful for the policeman who found me abandoned in the alley, my parents who rescued me from the orphanage, my children, the ability to take care of my parents, my soul mate, health, fitness, knowledge of fitness to help others, and wonderful friends.

    • I love your comment Yvonne! Some awesome things to be grateful for. I am also grateful for that policeman and for your parents! Had it not been for them you may have not ended up in the US and we would never have met you.
