Easy Popcorn Balls

Chocolate Toffee Popcorn Balls

I came upon an easy recipe for popcorn balls recently and tweaked it a bit at the request of my mother who really likes white chocolate and almonds. I have made a few variations of this recipe and all have been a hit. The original recipe is from Martha Stewart’s Everyday Food magazine.

Easy Kicked Up Popcorn Balls

16-18 cups freshly popped popcorn
2 Tbs Butter
1 bag mini marshmallows
1/2 – 1 cup chopped almonds
1/2 bag white chocolate chips
Salt

Melt butter in a large pot. Add marshmallows and stir continuously until melted. Remove from heat. Add popcorn, almonds, chips and several pinches of salt. Stir until popcorn is coated. If batch seems sticky, add additional popped popcorn. Butter hands and roll into balls about the size of a baseball.

Variations:
substitute regular or mini chocolate chips for white chocolate chips
Substitute toffee chips for almonds

Substitute butterscotch chips for white chocolate chips
Substitute pecans for almonds
