BeFit Summer Yoga Series

With the BeFit GO series completed, LionsGate entertainment offered me the opportunity to share “Lower Body Yoga Workout” from MyYogaWorks, with you. I was honored and thankful to LionsGate for the opportunity. Yoga is something I know a little about as I have been practicing for about five years now. Whenever I drift away from a regular practice and then start practicing again, I remember all the reasons I love yoga.

The benefits of Yoga include:

Stress Reduction– Studies have shown that yoga can help reduce stress and anxiety, and enhance mood and overall sense of well-being. It is pretty hard to hold onto stress and tension when you are breathing deeply, and if you are like me, trying to stay upright.

Improved Fitness– Yoga can lead to improved balance, flexibility, range of motion and strength. Some forms of yoga, such as Ashtanga, are quite physically challenging.

Improved Health– Yoga can also help reduce risk factors for chronic diseases, such as heart disease and high blood pressure. It can alleviate chronic conditions, such as depression, pain, anxiety and insomnia. It improves balance which can prevent falls and accidental injury which can be a concern as people age.

Lower Body Yoga Workout” is the third video in the “Summer Ready Yoga Series” program. The program is a total body-toning series that will help sculpt your core and tone your entire body.

One living example of the power of yoga is my teacher. Juris looks more like a surfer than a Yogi (he is both). He found yoga while recovering from a broken back about 20 years ago. He is forty something now and yoga is his full time vocation. He trains others to be yoga teachers and leads many practices each week. He is in amazing shape and can do things with his body that seem physically impossible and certainly not possible for someone over forty who suffered a broken back. He attributes his recovery and his health to the daily practice of yoga.

The “Summer Ready Yoga Series” series consists of four, ten minute workouts that are designed to be simple and straight to the point. The Summer Ready Yoga Series is the perfect to use on the go, whenever you might need a quick workout.

Next week concludes my current 30 day challenge of being purposefully physically active for at least 15 minutes a day and I will start a 30 day challenge with the start of the new month. I was toying with two ideas for my next challenge, one of which was a 30 day yoga challenge. I was concerned that I would have trouble completing the challenge because of some travel I will doing (BlogHer 13!) at the end of the month. This series is the answer for me. I can take these practices with me and find 10 minutes to complete them.

    • I don’t currently have this on feature on my blog, but I did at one time. You can look for plugins that will do this for you. I believe that several options are available. I can’t remember which one I used in the past. I would do a search and grab one that has a decent rating and is easy to use. I hope this helps.
