BeFit Go 30 Min Gym Circuit Workout

I am happy to report that so far I have been able to keep up with my 30 day challenge of being purposefully active for at least 15 minutes per day.  I have been purposefully active for MORE than 15 minutes every day since June 1 when the I began this personal challenge.  I have been staying active in a variety of ways and plan to add to the list of activities I perform as the 30 days continues on.

I am excited that this weeks new workout, courtesy of LionsGate Entertainment, is BeFit Go 30 Minute Gym Circuit Workout.  This 30 Min Gym Circuit Workout is an explosive, total-body circuit workout that combines cardio, weight training and plyometric moves to build strength and endurance, burn fat and engage all of the major muscle groups to help you get fit and lose weight.

Plyometrics are exercises that, when performed correctly, cause muscles to exert maximum force in as short a time as possible.  The  goal of these exercises is to increase both speed and power. This training focuses on moving from a muscle extension to a muscle contraction in a rapid or “explosive” way.  Plyometrics are used by athletes to improve performance.

Circuit training is an effective and quick way to fit your workout into a busy day. It provides a high intensity cardio workout, combined with weight and resistance training to target fat loss and to build lean muscle. A circuit is comprised of a series of exercises, also known as “stations,” to be performed in succession of each other to keep your body moving, and keep you interested in exercising. Circuit training stations are generally sequenced in a way to alternate between muscle groups, allowing them to recover while you move onto another exercise.
